Responding to the comments, the 33-year-old singer clarified in an Instagram Story that she is not as “skinny” as she may appear in the photo. She stated her current weight is 180 lbs, and she is a size 12. Emphasizing that her goal was never to become skinny, Sullivan explained that her weight loss journey was driven by a desire to support her mother, recently diagnosed with cancer, by adopting a vegan lifestyle.

“Last week some people dragged me saying I look sickly. I’m honestly a size 12. 180 lbs,” she wrote. “There’s nothing skinny abt me but my neck. I’m 5’8 however, so I sometimes photograph a little leaner than I am. But I ain’t skinny, and that was never my goal.”

Sullivan shared that her decision to go vegan was a supportive measure for her late mother’s battle with cancer and, unexpectedly, it positively impacted her own well-being. She expressed feeling “really good” and acknowledged her ongoing journey to better health and fitness.

Throughout her vegan journey, Sullivan has been taking snapshots of her favorite vegan meals, including homemade recipes, and sharing them on her IG story. She’s enjoying homemade hummus with spelt chickpea flour crackers, cauliflower rice with chana masala, dairy-free pizza with mushrooms, peppers, onions, tomatoes, and olives, and a classic vegan style taco with grilled veggies and salsa, guacamole in a romaine lettuce wrap.

While the vegan diet contributed to her weight loss, Sullivan’s post also highlighted the potential health benefits of plant-based living. Research has linked processed meat to cancer, and studies have shown that a plant-based lifestyle can play a role in disease prevention and overall health improvement. Sullivan concluded by expressing gratitude for the support and love from her fans.

As she navigates her health journey, Jazmine Sullivan remains candid about her experiences, using her platform to share personal insights and advocate for healthy living.
